The work includes the construction of a new elevated raw water intake pump station. The project is designed with an intake structure in the Mississippi River, dual 36” gravity feed piping to the pump station and discharge piping systems to force the raw water over the levee to the existing water treatment plant. The pump station well-structure will require a steel sheet pile cofferdam with walers and strut bracing. Other work includes the re-building of East Cuevas St, adding an extension to Avenue F, milling and asphalt overlay of a portion of Board St, watermain extensions, process pipe modifications, site improvements in the batture, and demolition of the existing raw water pump station.
