Located off of I-49 in Opelousas, this greenfield project included the construction of a 43,000+ SF sanctuary youth ministry facility, and cafe along with 247,279 SF of asphalt pavement and associated earthwork.
Concrete tilt-up wall construction was utilized in order to achieve an exposed natural material in both exterior and interior conditions. This chosen construction method also contributed to reducing the construction costs. The concrete tilt-up wall construction required a high level of precision as the concrete faces serve as the finish face on both interior and exterior walls.
Foundations consist of drilled shafts with pile cap and grade beams. Structural steel framing with a tilt-up exterior facade along with aluminum storefront and brick veneer bring the structure to life.
The sanctuary features a mezzanine level that consists of raised seating. Architectural features include polished concrete, exposed ceilings, and wood, among others.
The lobby floor is the hardened, sealed, and polished concrete slab of the building. The use of the structural slab as a finished material was not only a material preference, but also played a role in reducing the overall construction cost.
Our Savior’s Church signature 60’ tall Cross, a symbol synonymous with the Church’s locations across Louisiana, is also prominently featured on the property.
