Located in Louisiana’s fastest growing city of Youngsville, this project consists of a 258,000 SF new construction high school. Delivered under the Construction Management at Risk (CMaR) process, the high school was built to keep up with the increasing demands of the ever-growing population in South Lafayette.
The new state-of-the-art high school, located on a 100 acre site off of Almonaster road, consists of three main areas, the center of which is a three-story classroom building. The classroom building contains laboratories, a library, a dining facility, and collaboration spaces. A single-story building to the east houses two gymnasiums and locker room areas. To the west, a single-story theatre, band and rehearsal building resides.
At the time it was constructed, this was one of the first Louisiana public school facilitates to be delivered through the CMaR method. LEMOINE was selected to serve for the high profile project and to guide the school system and other stakeholders through the process.
LEMOINE’s timely completion of Phase I was an incredible phasing and sequencing milestone that ensured critical areas needed for an August school start were completed. In a mere 15 months, LEMOINE delivered over 200,000 SF with no delay in school function. The success of Phase I paved the way for success in the remainder of the project.
Along the way, LEMOINE was able to generate savings through project execution that were then reapplied, further enhancing the education facilities and improving the quality of use for students and teachers.
